Jun Fan Gung Fu / Jeet Kune Do

Lee Jun Fan Gung Fu /Jeet Kune Do

Here at Rister Martial Arts we use a 6 belt ranking structure with red, blue, green, brown, and black. Bruce Lee and his student, Dan Inosanto, never used rank in belts but JKD always had ranking system. My Instructor allows me to do this and I prefer it. JKD is not a mc dojo system so the rank from my school will not be the same as one of my peers. We are unique but we do follow a base structure of punches and kick to use and defend beyond that base is where the true art lies.

Way of the Intercepting Fist ~ “JKD is a process not a product”.

Jun Fan Gung Fu as the base structure for the how to and body mechanics.
Jeet Kune Do as a self-defense art and a reality-based contact response training.
Jeet Kune Do as a martial art with training and tactics to make your art better every day.
Jeet Kune Do as taught by Guro Dan Inosanto – the whole nine yards.
Jeet Kune Do as taught by Sifu Larry Hartsell – “the up close and personal”.

JUN FAN/JEET KUNE DO GRAPPLING ASSOCIATION

Founded by Sifu Larry B. Hartsell

SIFU/GURO Hartsell was known as the premier JKD fighter having spent many years as a bodyguard and in law enforcement.

We teach a street effective art specially developed by Sifu/Guro Jon Rister, taking the best from all of his influences, his instructors, and his life experiences both from competition and street altercations, to formulate what we call Combat JKD.

The student is taught the normal basic JKD/Jun Fan material and then “making it real” on a combat level, yet safe enough to go to work the next day.

These classes are mixed with heavy doses of Muay Thai, as taught by Ajarn Chai Sirisute and Panatukan, Dumog, and Pangamut. We are a members of the Thai Boxing Association of the USA, the Inosanto Association, as well as the JKD Grappling Association, and the Wing Chun Association USA.

Taught the way it was intended to be!
